The Harvest Festival Queens Contest 2014 Applications Are Available

The Harvest Festival Queen Competition is a scholarship competition where women of Mason County who are 16 – 20 years of age represent the Harvest Festival and Mason County. Eligible ladies attend one of the following schools: Mason County Central High School, Mason County Eastern High School, Ludington High School, and West Shore Community College. This competition rewards women with community service, poise, leadership, and excellence in many areas of her life.

Two winners will be crowned: Queen and 1st Runner Up. The Queen will receive a $500 scholarship from the Ludington and Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce. The 1st Runner Up will receive a $250 scholarship from West Shore Bank.

The Queen’s Coronation begins at 7:00pm on September 18th, 2014 at the Scottville Clown Band Shell. Contestants dedicate themselves to more than nine practices to prepare for this event.  The contestants will also show Harvest Festal pride as they represent their community in the annual Harvest Festival Parade. The Queen’s responsibilities will include a minimum of 4 appearances throughout the year.

The first practice will be held September 3rd from 6:30-8:30pm. Please bring a completed application and come prepared to have a photo taken (head shot). Contestants will be introduced to the dance number and should wear comfortable clothes.
